I come on here regularly and do my best to help people with problems, mostly in the category of mental health. I have had some answers chosen as best answer and I find it gratifying. I choose the mental health category because I suffer from depression like so many others and post traumatic stress disorder. I have been told by every doctor I see that I have seen and been through too much yet I am able to come up with a solution to some one else's problems easier than my own. Not only that, I know what I have to do to cope with all of it. Yet, the motivation is not there. I tend to listen very carefully when my issue is being discussed. I am becoming so aware of what happens during depression; the anxiety, fatigue, lack of motivation, lack of interest, constant suicide thoughts. I recognize it within myself but just cannot seem to get over it. I take anti depressants, see a psychologist weekly, attend support groups, you name I'll do it to get past this.Could it be that I am not applying myself enough? I also read that if Ptsd has gone on too long without treatment, then the patient will not respond well to treatment. This came as a hard blow. I have had it for over 15 years. Could it be that the issues I need to deal with are buried deep in my subconscious making things that much more difficult to deal with? At times I feel like an atm, fully operational but yet no transactions. Its stuff like that that bothers me the most. I am aware of it but thats as far as it gets! What are your thoughts? I usually write political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, and recollections. Many of the essays I write are in dialectical form. Writing is the only thing that allows me to properly es the problems that arise daily in life from an objective standpoint. It also, for me, is a great way to cure boredom and apathy. Many essays I write are critiques of the status-quo and conventional wisdom (e.g. against capitalism and against neocolonialism). I am home-schooled and very much "self-educated," so I have plenty of time to research for my next essay. Honestly, I have written about 15 essays last year alone. I do not like to have other people read them, as I prize my independence to much to have my works edited and adjusted to what another person finds "acceptable".

i don't agree with any child. there are other ways of dealing with bad behavior. so why have you not taken things away from him? some times kids will only respond when you take things they really like to do away from them. i think for the summer, you need to take any game systems away from him. make him sit down during the day and do some reading, writing, math. only when he does this would i allow him outside to play. let him know that he needs to improve in school. when school starts up again and he does well, then slowly give him things back. if he has a tv in his room you need to take it out. only allow him to watch tv in the living room with the rest of the family. you need to put your foot down. doing these things are not going to hurt him physically. like a would. also writing the same sentence over and over is foolish. he is not learning anything by that. as i said make him do some work in his reading writing and math each day.he is only 8 you can not keep him tied to the house all day. maybe explain to him that you know he can do well. so you going to do a give and take. if he does really well with this during the summer. let him know how proud you are and that you expect him to do well in school and take him out for a special treat. good luck.

ok, in my apartmet I have a regular dish network satellite dish that was installed by Dish network. The dish is on a tripod in my balcony, not screwed to anything, but the arm of the dish hangs over the railing about a foot. I just received a letter stating that the complete dish and any part of it must be within the balcony and that I needed to have written permission and a separate deposit before installing a dish even if it was inside my balcony. I agree with them on the first part, but when I asked why does another resident have a 20ft pole sticking out his balcony with the dish looking over on top of the building, I was told he was granted permission to do this because his installers asked if they could install the dish this way. Can they do this? Can they allow other residents to have things extending out their balconies but not everybody?

Double Stroller help!!!?

Whatever you decide on stay away from the side by side stroller they are to bulky to move around with inside the mall,which is the main place I use mine for.I would think your son is to young for a sit and stand.He will not want to sit and may not be able to sit on the plastic seat for 1 hour and if he wants to get in the stroller what will you do with baby?I know from experience it is hard to push a double stroller with one hand and hold a child at the same time:)Just advising you as to what to stay away from.

I have a 5 almost 6 year old that was completely potty trained for almost a year. He is very sensitive to change. And when his mother moved a few months ago he had a couple of accidents. I looked ped this but his mother started putting diapers on him again.He said that it is ok now because he is wearing a diaper so he doesn't have to get up. Now he is wetting the bed nightly. I know that he can go through the night without wetting. What do I do? Do I punish him? Do I just give it time.

Former social worker/case manager here...it wasn't the people/situations that burned me out, it was the bureaucracy. Too many pieces of paper and not enough time to complete them! I use the word "complete," because I found that said papers tended to be more useful to others when there were no blanks left. However, filling in all those blanks tended to get a fella behind! Social workers/case managers who had higher productivity appeared to be cutting corners somewhere. I don't say this to offend any of my brothers and sisters out there who by chance DIDN'T cut corners...it's just what I observed where I worked. I don't know how to half-do things...it's not in my nature. I don't think I overdo things, I just want them to be accurate and/or useful. So, any thoughts? Espcially anyone else labeled as "perfectionist"...any careers out there in which you find yourselves happy and thriving?

How do you speak when you are too nervous to do so?

It's a vicious cycle. In new situations, where I must speak, I get really nervous, and have trouble talking at all. I'm afraid that when I do speak it will sound angry, unhappy, or just plain weird to people around me, and that will make them uncomfortable. This worry makes me even more nervous. How do I stop it? Relaxation only goes so far. Using certain thoughts to put myself into a trance can work, but it takes diligence. Any suggestions?

Try nursing him in a different position, maybe at an angle where his little teeth aren't digging in to your nipple. Or try getting him to take more of your into his mouth so he doesn't clamp down as hard directly on the nipple...these teeth are new to him and he has to get used to having them...Give him some time to get used to them and handling these new teeth if he's not biting on purpose. I try to explain that i just got in the house and that i nvr placed a call to him but he's not hearing me. He never came to get his stuff on saturday but last night I got a txt saying that he would be over today to get his stuff and drop off my key. i told him that we need to talk and he says we have nothing to talk about. WTF!?! What is really going on. We've been together going on 7 yrs...what would make him act like this?? Geese can be left outside at night because they are quite aggressive towards predators and intruders onto their territory, and can look after themselves. Carbon monoxide detector alarm sounded in middle of night?

and i wonder if the reason was because of light bulbs that burst. we had 3 power surges in our home from equipment failure from the power company (entergy) the first 2 caused the lights to dim and made the computer smell hot and the surge protector made a big spark when the electricity went back on. the last power surge which i think was the worst one, happened at about 4am and caused the computer tower to burn inside. it also blew out or burnt out 2 of the energy saving spiral type flourescent bulbs in the kitchen. the strange thing is that our carbon monoxide detector alarm sounded and woke my son and i. my home is all electric. i have had the carbon monoxide detector for about 10 years and this is the first time it has ever sounded the alarm like that. was that caused from the light bulbs that blew out or burnt out from the power surge? when we changed the bulbs, they were not broken, only burnt out. thanks

Refreezing Chicken that is unthawed in the fridge?

There is this girl i really like in my high school. Its the kind of "like" where both personality and looks (at least in my opinion) are perfect for me. I know people around me are confused about the new me, but these dreams of mine convince me (through strong imagery of him being with her) that she, or rather any girl, would prefer him over me. Suicidal hamster!!!!!!!!!! Help me please!?

My hamster nugget is 6 weeks old. It is a boy. My cage is set up so that there are two levels, with a ramp in between. My hamster is new and keeps climbing on his house or wheel and climbs onto the bars at the top. I mean front AND back paws and keeps nibbling on it. I'm not worried about the climbing its the bit getting down that worries me! He doesn't just drop or anything, he drops straight onto the ramp & wheel or hard plastic top level. He also gets on top of the wheel and just falls straight off! When he is on his wheel he runs into the corner and doesn't stop biting it until he falls off. He does run on it and doesn't seem to be in any pain but he is bolt upright when he is on it. Just making sure these things are normal as I only got him yesterday and is my first hamster. I haven't tried to pick him up although I have introduced my hand and I have been putting him in his ball to run around every couple of hours. I don't put him in the ball, I place it inside the cage and he just climbs in and waits patiently until I seal it up and place him in a safe environment. How do I stop him from these habits and his munching and falling keeps me up at night even in separate rooms. HELP!
