In comedy films, why is the little kid sometimes played by twin actors?

Like julian/frankenstein in big daddy is played by twin actors cole sprouse and dylan sprouse. and in meet the fockers, little jack is played by spencer and bradley pickren. why do they do this sometimes in comedies?
