Suicidal hamster!!!!!!!!!! Help me please!?

My hamster nugget is 6 weeks old. It is a boy. My cage is set up so that there are two levels, with a ramp in between. My hamster is new and keeps climbing on his house or wheel and climbs onto the bars at the top. I mean front AND back paws and keeps nibbling on it. I'm not worried about the climbing its the bit getting down that worries me! He doesn't just drop or anything, he drops straight onto the ramp & wheel or hard plastic top level. He also gets on top of the wheel and just falls straight off! When he is on his wheel he runs into the corner and doesn't stop biting it until he falls off. He does run on it and doesn't seem to be in any pain but he is bolt upright when he is on it. Just making sure these things are normal as I only got him yesterday and is my first hamster. I haven't tried to pick him up although I have introduced my hand and I have been putting him in his ball to run around every couple of hours. I don't put him in the ball, I place it inside the cage and he just climbs in and waits patiently until I seal it up and place him in a safe environment. How do I stop him from these habits and his munching and falling keeps me up at night even in separate rooms. HELP!
