.exe is not a valid Win32 application?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop and everytime i try to download something it say .exe is not a valid with Win32 application for exe one thing i tryed to download C:\Users\DEVON\Downloads\Install_FreeRea… is not a valid Win32 application i get that for everything i try to download then what is Valid?????
