Depends.. If they are Muslim.. he must pay her and provide.. but then if they are Muslim, she has the right to decide who she wants to marry, you can't be forced to marry someone, that is against the religion. Maybe it is more culture than religion, which tends to be the case. And besides that she is ONLY 8.
